Kate Walker, a young New York lawyer, is sent to handle the sale of an old automaton factory hidden in the French Alps. Little did she know that this seemingly simple task would change her life forever. She is quickly swept into a journey to the far reaches of Eastern Europe, accompanied by a very peculiar automaton named Oscar. Together, they discover incredible places, populated by colorful characters, before meeting Hans Voralberg: the ingenious inventor, on the trail of the last mammoths of the mythical island of Syberia, which happens to be the final piece of the puzzle to conclude Kate's sale and mission.
